It's Rebellious to Choose Wellness with Kailin Bouse

In a world that glorifies hustle and burnout, choosing wellness can feel...well...rebellious.

Huh? Rebellious? Yes, you read that right.

When we're all chasing “busy" and "productive," choosing balance takes courage. It means stepping off the treadmill of “more, faster, better” and deciding that you matter first.

In theory, it sounds simple. In reality? Not so much.

How do we actually find that space where we can live fully in the present while still striving for more? Is that even possible?

Like most things in life (and the theme of the last few episodes), it is. But it takes practice.

In this episode of The Orange Butterfly Effect, I get to exhale with Kailin Bouse, a trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher, Reiki Master, and sound therapist, who shares her secrets on how to calm the noise, return to yourself, and live a more present life.

Go ahead. You can exhale now, too.

But what does this have to do with you?

Skeptical? That’s okay. Give this a chance.

Curious, but wondering, “Okay… but where do I even start?” Same.

All in? Or ready to be? Love it.

Here’s my simple challenge for you this week: Make one swap. Just one.

Ask yourself: What’s one thing I’m doing that feels good in the moment but doesn’t really fuel me, and what could I swap it with that actually nourishes me?

It could be swapping 20 minutes of doom scrolling for a quick walk outside.

Or trading late-night chips for a hot tea and a few pages of a book.

Or replacing autopilot TV time with journaling before bed.

It doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be intentional.

Try?

Selfishly, I Needed This Episode

A few months ago, I had a crystal healing energy session with the amazing Dawn Marino, and she left me with a message I couldn’t shake: “You need to go back to 'playing' and reconnect with your third eye.”

She was right. I’m at my best when my mind, body, and soul are in alignment. Lately, my mind and body have been my priority, but my soul? I left her out of the equation.

I walked out of that session energized and motivated to return to the soul-filling practices I’ve always loved: yoga, Reiki, and meditation. But like so many of us do, I pushed it aside with the excuse of “I’ll get around to it.”

I never did.

That’s why this conversation with Kailin felt like more than just an interview. Selfishly, I needed the advice! It was my sign. A little nudge from the universe. A reminder to stop waiting and start doing.

So if you’ve been putting off the thing you know will make you feel more whole, let this be your sign, too. Per usual, it’s time to do the dang thing.

Tonight, I am going to be a little rebellious and meet myself on the yoga mat. I hope you're a little rebellious and choose wellness, too.

Tune in. Take what you need. Pass it on. ✨
