33 for Me Challange

Updated: 3 days ago

Is September the new January?

It sure feels like it.

News outlets like Good Morning America are even talking about the way Labor Day, back-to-school season, and the end of summer vacations spark that urge to set fresh goals (or dust off old ones) and finish the year strong.

But here’s the thing: I said revisit.

What happened to those shiny New Year’s goals? Still on track? Somewhere in between? Totally out the window?

Exhale. This is for my fellow Type A, high-achieving go-getters… and also for my friends who feel a little off the rails. Why do we make it so hard? It doesn’t have to be. Really.

So, are you ready to lean into September and (actually) reset over the next 33 days? In a way that’s sustainable, simple, and fits into the life you’re already living?

Me too.

I recently created (and personally completed) the ‘33 For Me’ Challenge. I’d never suggest something I wouldn’t try myself first. That’s what friends are for!

‘33 For Me’ is a 33-day challenge that rejects unrealistic fitness trends and embraces a sustainable, balanced lifestyle. In other words, wave goodbye to burnout and hello to the 5 Fs of 33 For Me!

Attention: This isn’t a “new year, new me” trend.

I started this for one reason: so I could simply be me. The best version of me. Not just in January, but all 12 months of the year.

And it begins with building the habit in 33 days.

Let me say it again: This is not a “new year, new me” trend.

It’s about elevating the (totally awesome) you that already exists.

Okay, now let me explain.

It starts with identifying your 5 Fs.

Fuel

Flow

Find

Focus

Feel

Your 5 Fs won’t look the same as mine or your best friend’s. Why? Because they should be customized to fit you. That’s what makes this work. Just like your favorite jeans, your plan should fit you, not the other way around. Design a plan that (actually and realistically) works for your lifestyle and goals!

Here are a few parameters and ideas. Ultimately, it’s up to you to fill in the blanks.

Disclaimer: The only non-negotiable? Hydration.   Because 'hot people drink water!' Credit where credit is due, thanks @Rebecca Kennedy!

Fuel: Choose a nutrition plan that works for you and drink at least 2 liters (72oz) of water daily.

Flow: Move your body for at least 10 minutes each day in a way that feels good to you.

Find: Seek out one moment of joy every day and capture it.

Focus: Journal every day. It can be one word, a sentence, or a whole page. It doesn't matter. Just write something.

Feel: Take one minute to check in with yourself at the end of the day. How do you feel? Document it.

Okay, so what 5 Fs are you committing to for the next 33 days? While you think, I’ll share mine.

Notice that I am using I AM statements because I am doing the dang thing! I encourage you to do the same.

Fuel:

I am prioritizing whole foods 80 percent of the time.

I am drinking 72oz of water daily (filling my Owala up 3x!)

Flow:

I am getting in 10k steps per day.

Find:

I am taking a photo of the moment(s) that bring me joy throughout the day.

Focus:

I am journaling every day.

Feel:

I am recording a voice memo before I fall asleep at night to reflect on the day.

Your turn!

Tip: Jot this down in your phone’s notes or on paper. Writing it out makes it real!

Fuel:

I am…

Flow:

I am…

Find:

I am…

Focus:

I am…

Feel:

I am…

We’re friends! Remember? I’m here to support you and hold you accountable!

I’ll check in with you 33 days from now.

Behind the Mic:

I am an extreme person. To my own demise, I’ve always been extreme. For most of my adult life, I lived in a rinse-and-repeat cycle: overtraining, pushing my body past its limits, feeling exhausted, crashing, taking a break… and then doing it all over again.

In one of those “reset” phases, I thought about getting back on track by starting the 75 Hard Challenge. It’s a program I admire, one with proven success, that I knew would push me to hit my so-called peak performance. That very thought is what sparked me to create my own challenge: “Peak Performance.”

Do I want to perform at my peak? Of course. But here’s the thing: if there’s a peak, doesn’t that mean there’s a decline on the other side? In my experience, there always is. So I asked myself, what if I stopped chasing the peak and instead built a system to aim for optimal performance? Not the highest high, but the best I could do with the time, energy, and resources I actually had. A level of performance that’s sustainable over my lifespan.

And...it worked.

At first, I hated it. Everything felt slower. I thought my performance was slipping. I was working out less, and I felt unproductive when I wasn’t hustling in all the ways I used to. Honestly, I kept thinking: F this.

But then, two Sundays in, something shifted. I woke up with a new feeling: excitement. No “Sunday Scaries.” No dread. No exhaustion. Just excitement. Because I had optimized my performance, I had more energy, and it lasted. No Sunday afternoon crash. No decline. I was soaring. I wasn’t reinventing myself; I was elevating the version of me that already existed.

This model won’t work for everyone. But my “33-day reset” has now turned into seven months of consistency.

And for me? Dang. It works.

Tune in. Take what you need. Pass it on. ✨
